Basic Rules for Omaha Omaha Hi-lo is a Poker game in which each player receives four cards as their initial hand. Each player MUST use a specific combination of five cards: any two out of their hand and any three from the board (community cards) to form the best five-card Poker hand and also the best five-card low hand. Casino hold’em rules
Like Texas holdem poker, casino hold’em is played with a standard French deck of 52 cards. But whereas regular poker is all about using your wits to outclass your fellow players, the goal in Caribbean hold’em is simply to beat the dealer – much like in blackjack.
The run of play in casino holdem goes like so:
– Each player makes an ante bet. This can be anything be anything from $1 to $100, depending on the specific table limits.
– Players and the dealer then receive two cards each, all dealt face-down.
– Three community cards are then dealt face-up on the middle of the table, just like the flop in holdem poker.
– Players then consider their hands and decide whether to fold or call. If they fold, they forfeit the hand and any bets made; if they call, they must put up an additional wager twice the size of their ante bet.
– If any players call, the croupier then deals two more face-up cards to complete the board (five cards total).
– Now each player’s hand is compared against the dealer’s. Each hand can consist of any five-card combination of the seven available (two hole cards, five community cards).
– The dealer needs at least a pair of Fours to qualify. If the house’s hand does not qualify, all remaining players win the ante bet. The call bet, however, is pushed.
– If the dealer qualifies and the player’s hand is stronger, the ante bet wins and the call bet pays even money (1 to 1).
– If the dealer qualifies and beats the player’s hand, both the ante and the call bet are lost.
– If the dealer qualifies and ties the player’s hand, both the ante and the call bet are pushed.
Ante bet pay table
As with video poker and many table games, the ante bet in casino hold’em poker pays according to a list of predetermined returns for specific hand values. Wins with a straight or less usually pay even money, while the stronger hands (flush, full house, etc.) pay better and better the higher you go.
Below is the standard pay table used in the Casino Hold’em Poker game developed by Net Entertainment, which is available at several of our top-ranked online gambling sites.
- Royal flush – 100 to 1
- Straight flush – 20 to 1
- Four of a kind – 10 to 1
- Full house – 3 to 1
- Flush – 2 to 1
- Straight or lower – 1 to 1
With this pay chart, Caribbean hold’em poker holds a house edge of around 2.16 per cent. In other words: you can expect to lose less money compared to European roulette (2.70%), but it’s not quite as player-friendly as craps (0.45%), blackjack (~0.50%), or baccarat (1.01%).
AA Bonus side bet
When you put up your ante at the start of a hand, you will notice there are three betting boxes for each player. The two labelled ‘Ante’ and ‘Call’ are self explanatory, but there is also one for the AA+ Bonus side bet.
This is an optional extra which can be played alongside your ante at the beginning of each hand. It is completely independent of your ante and call wagers – so winning or losing the bonus bet doesn’t affect your overall hand, and vice versa.
The rules for the AA Bonus are simple: if you have a pair of Aces or better at the flop (i.e. after the first three up-cards are dealt), you win the bet; if not, you lose it.
As with the ante wager, there are bigger payouts for stronger hands. The AA+ side bet on NetEnt Casino Hold’em Poker, for instance, pays 25 to 1 for a flush or higher and 7 to 1 for a straight or lower.
While many players enjoy the added thrill of the AA Bonus, it is a sucker bet in the truest sense. For example, the AA+ pay table described above carries a house edge of some 6.40 per cent. That means when you play the side bet, you’re almost tripling the casino’s theoretical advantage.
Casino holdem strategy
One reason casino hold’em games have a higher house edge than blackjack or online video poker is because there is no optimal strategy for it. Seven cards in play means there are simply too many possible outcomes to fit into a comprehensive basic strategy chart, while trying to process and implement such data on the spot would almost certainly make your head explode.
With that said, we can tell you that computer simulations show an optimal strategy casino hold’em player would take the call bet in 82 per cent of hands. Thus, you should only look to fold when you have a hand that ranks in the worst 18 per cent of hold’em poker plays.
So the rule of thumb is this: only fold when you have little to no chance of making any kind of hand. We’re talking about absolute stinkers, like an offsuit Seven-Deuce split in the hand with no help on the board. Otherwise, have a punt. Remember, the dealer needs at least Fours – so you’re a chance to win even when you miss your draw.

Introduction
Casino Hold 'Em is a poker variation, similar to Texas Hold 'Em, that is played in Egypt, Russia, South Africa, Holland, Latvia, Estonia, Ireland, Morocco, Malta, Ukraine, Panama, and Romania. It is also available to play online at casinos using Net Gaming, Real Time Gaming, Playtech, Gamesys, and Galewind Software.
The game also goes by the name Casino Hold 'Em Open. Under this name, the rules are the same except the player hole cards are dealt face up. In normal Casino Hold 'Em they are dealt face down.
Rules
The rules are as follows.
- Play begins with each player making an Ante wager. There is also an optional Progressive Jackpot side bet.
- The dealer gives the player and himself two hole cards and three community cards face up on the table.
- Each player must decide to either fold or call. If the player folds, then he gives up his cards and his Ante bet. If the player calls, then the Call bet must be equal to two times the Ante bet.
- The dealer will then deal two more community cards, for a total of five. The dealer will then turn over his own two cards.
- Both hands shall be scored according the highest poker value of the two hole cards and five community cards.
- The dealer must have a pair of fours or better to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify then the Ante will pay according to the Ante pay table below and the Call bet will push.
- If the dealer qualifies and beats the player, then the player will lose both the Ante and Call.
- If the dealer qualifies and the player beats the dealer then the Ante will pay according to the Ante pay table below and the Call bet will pay 1 to 1.
- If the dealer qualifies and the player ties the dealer then both Ante and Call bets will push.
- The Progressive Jackpot side bet pays based on the player's final seven card hand only, even if the player folded or loses to the dealer. More on this bet at the bottom of the page.

Caribbean Hold 'Em Warning
Be warned that Realtime Gaming has an imitation of this game called Caribbean Hold 'Em. However, they pay 1 to 1 on the Ante if the dealer doesn't qualify, as opposed to the full Ante Bonus pay table. Nowhere is this rule change disclosed in their game rules, I might add.

The following return table is four pay table 4. The lower right cell shows a house edge of 0.35%. This pay table can be found at Internet casinos using Gamesys N.V. software titled 'Casino Hold 'Em with Zero House Edge.' As you can see, the 'Zero House Edge' part is a misnomer. The player must pay a 10% commission on any net gambling win per session. A 'session' ends after a period of one hour with no bet or 24 hours, whichever happens first.

The only pay tables fully analyzed are 3 and 4, because it takes my computer about a month to cycle through all possible combinations. However, assuming the player was following optimal strategy under pay table 3 but playing under pay table 1 or 2, the house edge under pay table 1 would be 2.40%, and under pay table 2 would be 1.96%. The actual house edge under pay tables 1 and 2 would be slightly less or equal to these figures.
Strategy
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to quantify optimal strategy for this game. I can say that the optimal strategy player will raise 82% of the time. So only in the worst 18% of hands should the player fold. In general these are when the player has two singletons in the hole that are low compared to the flop, with little or no chance for a straight or flush.
Side Bets
The only side bet I am aware of for this game is known as the AA+. It pays based on the poker value of the player's hand after the flop. There are three known pay tables, as follows:

The Progressive Jackpot bet shall pay based on the player's two hole cards and the five community cards only. It does not matter whether or not the player folds or loses to the dealer. In the event of a straight flush or royal flush on the board, all players who made the Progressive Jackpot bet shall split the win.
The following table shows the probability and contribution to the return for each event. Obviously, the return from the top two awards will depend on the jackpot size, so are treated as unknowns.

The table above shows the fixed wins return 42.77% of the amount bet. Assuming the player is playing alone, for every $1,000 in the meter the return will increase by 6.02%. Under the same assumption, the break-even point is $9,503.22. Due to jackpot sharing, the return will go down slightly according to the number of other players making the bet.

The return for the top award depends on the amount in the jackpot. I can say that all the other wins return 53.16% of money bet. For every 100,000 bet units in the meter the return increases by 2.39%. At a jackpot of $1,958,300.75 the return reaches 100%.

Casino Razz Bonus

Methodology
The above analysis was performed using a brute force combinatorial program that analyzed all 27,813,810,024,000 possible outcomes, and played every hand according to optimal player strategy. It took my computers about a month to crank though the 27.8 trillion hands.
